Important Travel Advisory for UK Citizens Applying for Visas to Iran
Please note the following important information for all applicants submitting visa requests for Official Travel, Transit, Tourism, and Business purposes:
- The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) currently advises against all travel to Iran due to the risk of arbitrary detention and mistreatment of British nationals.
- Travellers choosing to proceed must understand that any travel insurance may be invalidated when visiting countries under FCDO “Do Not Travel” advisories. Applicants are responsible for securing appropriate insurance coverage and accepting any related risks.
- UK passport holders must be accompanied by an officially approved Iranian guide at all times. Independent travel is not permitted.
- Entry to Iran may be refused to travellers whose passports contain Israeli stamps, visas, or exit/entry records from Israel within the past 365 days.
- Visas2 strongly recommends that all applicants consult the most current travel guidance published by the UK Government at http://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/iran prior to submitting their application.
By continuing with your application, you acknowledge that you are aware of the current risks and requirements for travel to Iran.
